After the daily joys and sometimes grind of shouldering career
advancement requirements, family demands (whether married or not,
with or without children) board service obligations and the like,
how do we avoid winding up in the ‘lost and found?’ Are
there special considerations for women of color in balancing personal
and professional needs? Do we have the same ‘on/off ramp’ career
opportunities as other colleagues in climbing the corporate/organization
ladder? These and other important life and career management balance
questions will be put-on-the table for honest dialogue, debate
and solution building in this first WorkStyle-LifeStyle leadership
seminar.

employment options, economic status and family roles.
She
served as the Project Director for the Center’s groundbreaking
research with women of color at Fortune 1000 companies, resulting
in the report, No More “Business As Usual” Women
of Color in Corporate America:
Finding: While most women of color (70
percent) report feeling proud to work for their companies,
only one-third would recommend their company to a friend
based on management’s commitment to diversity.
Finding: Only two in five (39 percent)
would recommend their company based on management’s
willingness to help employees balance work/life responsibilities.
